Tanker carrying methyl alcohol overturns & catches fire

Vadodara, Aug 6. A road tanker carrying over 20,000 litres methyl alcohol skidded off the road, turned turtle and caught fire on the Mujpur-Borsad road in Padra taluka on Saturday morning. As methyl alcohol gushed out of the overturned tanker, fire also started in the storm water drain near the road.
Officials from the Vadodara Fire and Emergency Services (VFES) rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control within 30 minutes.
Traffic movement on the road was closed as a precautionary measure by the Padra police.
